Prym curved safety pins 27 mm – for basting patchwork and quilts

The curved safety pins from Prym (art. no. 071390, no. 1) are made for patchwork and quilting. You use them to baste the top fabric, wadding and backing together before quilting. The card holds 120 gold-coloured pins, 27 mm long, made entirely of rustproof brass.

According to Prym, the curved shape gives a better insertion angle. You can push the pin flat through all the layers and bring it out again more easily without lifting the quilt. With 120 pins, you can also secure larger quilts at close intervals.

Basting a quilt with curved pins

Lay the backing, wadding and top fabric smoothly on top of one another. Pin from the centre outwards at even intervals, catching all three layers, and close the pins. Remove them one by one while quilting, before the presser foot reaches them, so that neither the pin nor the machine is damaged.
