Prym Steel Safety Pins – 18 Pins in Three Lengths

Prym steel safety pins are silver-coloured fasteners for sewing, quilting and patchwork, and for plenty of everyday uses. One card holds 18 pins in 27, 38 and 50 mm, so you have the right length to hand for light fabrics as well as for several layers.

The pins have a rust-resistant coating. The finely ground slim points make them easier to insert, even into thick, firm materials, and are gentle on the fabric. According to Prym, the steel has a balanced spring tension, so the pins hold reliably even when opened and closed often. The cap is burr-free and has no sharp edges.

Which length for what

The short 27 mm pins suit thin fabrics and small pieces, while the 50 mm pins take several layers. For quilting, pin the top fabric, wadding and backing together before you start sewing. All three lengths are also handy for holding hem allowances, pattern pieces or lining in place.
