The Prym Lilac Stripes interchangeable circular knitting needle set (art. no. 223801) is a set of interchangeable circular needles for jumpers, jackets, scarves, hats and home decor accessories. It contains eight pairs of needle tips from 4.0 to 10.0 mm, four cables with cable end stoppers and a cable key. You can combine tips and cables freely, so one set covers many needle sizes and lengths. The stripe design in lilac and white gives the set its name.

According to Prym, the needles are 70% wood, plus 20% metal and 10% plastic. Wood feels warm and the stitches do not slip off the needle too quickly. Each needle is marked with its size, so you can see straight away which tip you are holding. A transparent bag keeps the set together.

Which cable length?

The cable should be shorter than the circumference of your work so that the stitches are not stretched. The four lengths cover typical projects.

• 60 cm: hats, sleeves and other small projects worked in the round
• 80 cm: collars, cowls and slightly larger projects worked in the round
• 100 and 120 cm: jumpers, jackets and wide scarves, also for magic loop

Using the set

Screw the tip of the size you want onto a cable and tighten the connection with the cable key. Check it occasionally on longer projects so that it does not come loose. If you want to take a break or change needle size, unscrew a tip and put on a cable end stopper so that no stitches slip off. With two stoppers in the set, you can secure both ends of a cable this way. If you alternate between several projects, you can also park stitches on the cable. Your pattern tells you which size you need.
