Prym Safety Pins 27 mm – Small Steel Pins for Holding Fabric When Sewing and Quilting

Prym safety pins (art. no. 085441) are 27 mm steel pins for holding fabric layers together when sewing, quilting and patchwork. The pack contains 16 pins in a silver colour. They have a rust-protected coating, and the slim points go into thick, firm materials as well while being gentle on the fabric.

According to Prym, the steel used has a balanced spring tension. The pins therefore stay firmly closed even when opened and closed often. At 27 mm they are among the smaller sizes in the Prym range, which runs from 19 mm to 57 mm.

What the 27 mm size is suited to

The short length suits fine to medium fabric layers, small markings and jobs where longer pins would get in the way. When quilting or doing patchwork, you can use them to hold layers in place before sewing them together. For thick layers, wadding or larger areas, choose the longer sizes in the Prym range, for example 38 mm or 50 mm.

How to place the pins

Insert the pin at right angles to the direction of the seam and close it before you move the fabric. Remove the pins before sewing on the machine, so that the machine needle does not hit metal and no needle breaks.
