Prym 15 mm buttons – pearl-coloured and boil-proof

The Prym buttons (art. no. 311268) are flat two-hole buttons for work overalls, household textiles, pyjamas and underwear. They are made of plastic (polyester), measure 15 mm in diameter and are pearl-coloured and semi-transparent, so they blend in discreetly with white and coloured fabrics alike. One pack contains 15 buttons.

According to Prym, the buttons are boil-proof and mangle-proof. You can wash them at up to 95 °C, which matters for clothing that is often washed hot.

Sewing on the buttons

The two holes make sewing on easy: use a double thread and pass it through both holes several times. While sewing, place a matchstick or a needle across the button, between the button and the fabric, and pull it out once the button is secured. This leaves a little slack, so the button slips through the buttonhole more easily later. Finally, wind the thread several times around the shank under the button and fasten off.
