Rayher pointed wooden cone – blank for painting and making figures

The Rayher pointed wooden cone is a natural wooden blank that you can turn into figures such as Father Christmases or gnomes. The cone is 125 mm high with a diameter of 40 mm. It comes as 1 piece in a PVC box, where you can also keep it until you are ready to use it.

The size suits small table and window decorations. With a diameter of 40 mm, the body has enough surface for a face, coat or pattern without becoming bulky.

Decorating the pointed cone

Lightly sand the surface along the grain with fine sandpaper before painting and wipe off the dust. Apply acrylic paint in two thin coats rather than one thick one, and let each coat dry well so that no drips or streaks form. Paint details such as belts, buttons or patterns only once the base colour is completely dry.

• Head: glue a wooden ball to the tip with wood glue
• Coat and hat: decorate with paint, felt or fabric scraps
• Finally, protect with clear varnish if needed
