The Proxxon MICROMOT 60/EF is a handy power tool for fine work: you can drill, grind, cut and polish small parts with it, for example in model making or precision engineering. The set includes the power supply, a plastic case and 43 industrial-quality accessories, so you can get started straight away.

You control the speed electronically between 5,000 and 20,000 rpm. This matters because a 0.3 mm drill bit needs a different speed from a cutting disc. The quick-release chuck takes different shank diameters. According to Proxxon, the balanced special DC motor is quiet and long-lasting, and the ground spindle runs on ball bearings. At just 230 g and 220 mm long, the tool sits lightly in the hand and is suited to prolonged work on small parts.

What is in the case

The 43 accessories are held in the plastic case with a snap-fit catch. You have everything you need for your first projects:

Working with the MICROMOT

Clamp the tool firmly in the quick-release chuck and choose the speed to suit the job. When drilling with the thin bits from 0.3 to 1 mm, use light pressure and keep the bit straight, as even sideways tilting can break it. Apply cutting discs only in the cutting direction and never sideways, because they are thin and could otherwise break. Use the polishing wheel on acrylic and Plexiglas with light pressure so that the plastic does not heat up too much. Always wear safety glasses when drilling, grinding and cutting.
