Proxxon MICRO-Driver – precision screwdriver set with tweezers in a zip case

The Proxxon MICRO-Driver set (art. no. 22720) is a precision screwdriver set for small screws in electronics, cameras, watches, jewellery, precision engineering and model making. It consists of 12 screwdrivers with slotted, Phillips, TX and hexagon socket profiles and a pair of tweezers, 13 pieces in total, plus the case with zip. That gives you the usual profiles for fine screws in one set.

The blades are made of high-alloy nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel (SAE 8660), which is hard and tough according to Proxxon. They are chrome-plated and have a burnished tip. All blades are 50 mm long, so you can also reach screws that sit a little deeper in the housing.

Handle and handling

The handle is made of two plastic components. The plastic is impact-resistant and resistant to oil and acid, and a softer component in the grip area ensures a secure hold. Press down on the rotating centring head from above and turn the handle with your fingers without the blade slipping. The finger rest helps you guide the driver precisely.

Which profile fits?

An incorrectly chosen profile is the most common cause of damaged screw heads. So first try the blade loosely in the screw head: it must fit without play and engage deeply enough. Fine Phillips screws often need PH 000 or PH 0; for Torx screws, try the sizes from TX 5 to TX 10 in turn. Pick up small screws and small parts with the tweezers supplied. The case with zip keeps everything within reach in the workshop and protects the set when you are on the move.
