The Ceramic Body 480 by Goerg & Schneider is a coarsely grogged, light-firing clay body developed for modelling and demanding hand-building techniques. With a high grog content of 40% and a grain size of 0–2.0 mm, it provides excellent support when creating larger and more substantial ceramic pieces.

This clay body is particularly suitable for sculptures, reliefs, vessels and large hand-built objects. The coarse grog supports stable construction while giving the finished surface a lively, naturally rustic texture. It is suitable for professional ceramic artists as well as ambitious hobby potters.

After firing, the clay develops a light colour ranging from white to light cream. This neutral fired colour provides an attractive base for glazes, slips and other surface decorations. Its broad firing range of 1000–1260°C makes Ceramic Body 480 suitable for a variety of ceramic firing processes.
