Goerg & Schneider Ceramic Body 264

Goerg & Schneider Ceramic Body 264 is a soft and plastic stoneware clay suitable for a wide range of ceramic projects. It fires white to light cream and contains 25% fine grog with a particle size of 0–0.5 mm. This combination provides excellent workability and reliable stability for small to medium-sized pieces.

Its broad firing range of 1000°C to 1280°C makes this clay body suitable for various ceramic techniques and compatible glazes. It is a dependable all-purpose clay for beginners as well as experienced ceramic artists looking for a versatile body for modelling and hand-building.

For hand-building, modelling and pressing

The soft, plastic consistency makes the clay easy to model, shape, press and stamp. Its fine grog provides additional stability without creating an excessively coarse surface. Larger ceramic pieces are also possible when built with an even wall thickness and dried slowly.

Our experience: Larger pieces and objects with different wall thicknesses should be dried slowly and evenly. This helps reduce tension cracks and deformation. We recommend carrying out a test firing when using a new combination of clay, glaze and firing temperature.
