Décopatch PappArt standing cat, extra small – papier-mâché

Décopatch PappArt standing cat – papier-mâché figure to cover and paint

The Décopatch PappArt standing cat (art. no. AP129) is a small papier-mâché figure for decorating with Décopatch paper. You can cover it with pieces of paper, paint it or decorate it as you like. The blank becomes a decorative figure for a windowsill, shelf or gift table.

The figure is made of papier-mâché and is approx. 16.5 cm tall. Its compact size (extra small) means it is quickly finished and also works well for trying out the technique.

Decorating the cat

Tear or cut the paper into small pieces. Brush a thin layer of glue over the figure, lay a piece of paper on top and smooth it from the centre outwards. The pieces may overlap, so no papier-mâché shows through. Once dry, a coat of varnish glue protects the surface. Small pieces of paper lie flat more easily on curves such as the ears and tail than large ones.

Cover it or paint it?

With Décopatch paper you get patterns and colours without any painting. If you would rather give the cat a single colour or your own design, you can also paint it.
