Rayher Mixed Leather Scraps – Leather for Small Craft and Sewing Projects

Rayher leather scraps (art. no. 8301500) come in a bag containing 500 g of leather in assorted colours. You can use them for small craft and sewing projects, leather jewellery, bracelets, small tailoring jobs and various decorations.

As these are scraps, the pieces differ in shape and size. That suits projects where you only need small cut-outs anyway, for example pendants, appliqués or details on decorative items. For an item that has to be made from one large, continuous piece, you are better off using leather by the metre or cut to size.

Working with the scraps

Look over the pieces before cutting: thickness, firmness and surface can vary. Thinner, more pliable pieces are better suited to sewing or bracelets, firmer ones to pendants and appliqués. Draw your shape with a pen on the back of the leather and cut it out with sharp scissors or a craft knife on a cutting mat. A blunt tool frays the edges and slips.
