Darwi SOFTY children's modelling clay, 6 × 62 g

Darwi SOFTY children's modelling clay – 6 colours, never dries out

The Darwi SOFTY children's modelling clay set contains six colours of modelling clay, 62 g each, for school, nursery, crafts and modelling. SOFTY is a plant-based, wax-based modelling clay and, according to Darwi, consists mainly of wax and GMO-free maize starch. It never dries out, stays soft permanently and can be reworked at any time. Darwi recommends it for ages 3 and up.

The set includes white, blue, red, green, yellow and orange. The colours can be mixed with one another, and you can lighten colours with white. The firm texture of the clay is easy to shape, even for small details.

Plasticine painting: pictures made from modelling clay

In plasticine painting, you create pictures by applying modelling clay to a firm surface. SOFTY is suitable because it stays soft and spreads easily.

• Lightly sketch the motif in pencil on sturdy card.
• Pinch off small pieces and warm them briefly between your fingers.
• Press the clay onto the surface and spread it out with your finger. For transitions, blend the colours slightly into one another.

Mixing and reusing colours

You can knead the six colours together, for example blue and yellow to make green, or red and white for a lighter shade. Knead the colours thoroughly until no streaks are visible. As SOFTY does not dry out, you can reuse leftovers later. However, mixed shades cannot be separated again. Keep the colours apart if you want them to stay pure.

Good for the hands too

According to Darwi, kneading SOFTY is suitable for finger rehabilitation. White SOFTY is also used in the Davis method to teach people with dyslexia to tell letters apart.
