These MINI roof tiles in the beaver-tail shape are made of clay and are intended for roofing in model making. Each tile measures 19 × 12 × 3 mm. The pack contains 100 pieces, which you can use to roof model houses or miniatures.

You will know the flat, rectangular beaver-tail shape from real roofs. On a model it creates the typical scale pattern of overlapping rows.

Roofing a model roof

Start at the lower edge of the roof (the eaves) and work up row by row towards the ridge. Each row partly covers the one beneath it, so water runs off over the tiles just as it does on the real thing. Offset the tiles from row to row by about half their width to get an even scale pattern.

Planning the quantity

Because the tiles overlap, only part of each tile is visible. Before gluing, lay out a few rows dry to estimate how many you need for your roof surface.
