Pracht stainless steel crimp beads, Ø 2.0 mm – securing beads and clasps

Pracht crimp beads are made of stainless steel and have a diameter of 2.0 mm. You use them to secure beads, pendants and clasps on jewellery wire or nylon thread. They suit bracelets, necklaces and earrings, and can also be used to repair existing jewellery.

The pack contains 50 pieces. For small pieces of jewellery made with fine wire, that is enough for several projects, as you usually only need one crimp bead per wire end.

How to fit a crimp bead

First check that your wire or thread will pass through the bead twice, because for a loop at the clasp the end of the wire runs back through the crimp bead. Stainless steel is very sturdy, but it can break if you squeeze too hard. Using crimping pliers greatly reduces the risk of breakage.

• Thread the crimp bead onto the wire, followed by the clasp or pendant.
• Pass the end of the wire back through the crimp bead and pull the loop tight.
• Squeeze the crimp bead with the pliers until it sits firmly.
• Trim the excess wire end with side cutters.
