DJECO Princess French Knitting Kit – Spool Knitter, Needle, 3 Balls

DJECO Princess French Knitting Kit – Make Your Own Knitted Cords

The DJECO Princess French knitting kit (art. no. DJ09834) teaches children how to knit cords. The spool knitter is shaped like a princess and stands 12 cm tall. Everything you need is in a pink storage box with an elastic fastening and gold accents: a knitting needle, three balls of wool in pink, yellow and bright pink, and step-by-step instructions. You do not need any other materials to get started.

The kit is intended for children aged 7 to 13. With the 12 cm metal star you can knit a shooting star to hang up.

How to use the spool knitter

The instructions in the kit show you every step. The principle is the same for every spool knitter: you thread the end of the wool through the opening in the figure so that it comes out at the bottom, and wind the yarn around the hooks on the head. On the next round you wind the yarn over a second time and use the needle to lift the lower loop over the upper one. The knitted cord then gradually grows out of the bottom.

What to use the cord for

You can use the knitted cord as a bracelet, belt, hairband or decorative ribbon. The metal star lets you make a shooting star to hang up. As the kit contains three colours of wool, you can knit the cords in a single colour or change colours. The box with its elastic fastening keeps the spool knitter, needle, star and wool together afterwards.
