Macramé shell kit – knot your own wall hanging in ecru

The macramé kit "Coquillage en macramé" from the Ma Déco range by Graine Créative contains everything you need to knot a shell wall hanging in recycled cotton: cord, wooden beads, wooden rod and illustrated instructions. The finished piece is 22 cm wide and 55 cm long and works well as wall decor on a bare wall or above a shelf.

The cotton cord is 2 mm thick and 70 m long. This thickness shows the knots clearly, and the amount of cord is matched to the design, so you do not need any more. With the instructions, the kit is also suitable for first-time macramé.

Knotting

The wooden rod is the hanger to which you attach the strands of cord. You add the beads as you knot; the instructions show the exact positions. Before you cut, measure the strands carefully according to the lengths given in the instructions. Knots use up a lot of cord, and strands cut too short cannot be lengthened. Work with an even tension so that the knots look regular and the shell shape comes out neatly.
