Städter fondant smoother 85 x 150 mm, white food-safe PS plastic

Städter fondant smoother – for smooth fondant finishes on cakes

The Städter fondant smoother lets you smooth the fondant surface on covered cakes and tortes. It is made of white, food-safe PS plastic and measures 85 × 150 mm. The flat surface spreads the pressure evenly over the fondant, so fingerprints and small bumps disappear.

After use, rinse it under running warm water. According to the manufacturer, it is also dishwasher safe.

How to smooth fondant

Lay the fondant over the cake or torte and first press it on lightly by hand. Then run the smoother over the surface in slow, even movements: on the top from the centre outwards, on the sides from top to bottom. Use only light pressure so the fondant is not stretched thin or torn. If the fondant sticks to the smoother, dust the surface very lightly with icing sugar or cornflour. Work quickly while the fondant is still soft, as it soon forms a skin when exposed to air.
