Heart silicone mould – casting mould for a heart-shaped dish

The Graine Créative heart silicone mould is a soft silicone mould for a heart-shaped dish, for example as a soap dish. You can cast plaster, concrete or wax in it, and Jesmonite and casting resin can also be used. The silicone is flexible, so you can release the hardened piece easily from the mould. The smooth surface of the mould is transferred to your casting.

The mould is reusable and easy to clean. At 115 × 125 mm, the dish sits well on a washbasin, the edge of a bath or a chest of drawers.

Casting the dish

Before casting, place the mould on a level, firm surface, for example a board. Soft silicone gives way, and the dish would otherwise turn out crooked. Mix your casting compound according to the instructions on the packaging, pour it slowly into the mould and tap the mould gently so that air bubbles rise to the top. Only demould once the compound has fully hardened or cooled: gently squeeze the mould together from the edges and release the piece rather than pulling on it. Plaster absorbs moisture. If the dish is to be used in the bathroom, seal it after drying.
