Victorinox Handyman – pocket knife with pliers, saw and scissors for home and workshop
The Victorinox Handyman is a Swiss Army knife with 24 functions for the home, DIY and the workshop. Besides a large and a small blade, it has combination pliers, a wood saw and a metal saw, scissors, three screwdrivers and a chisel. If you often need a tool quickly around the house, on your bike or for craft projects, you have plenty in one device.
The pliers with wire cutter, crimping tool and wire stripper cover small electrical and wire jobs, and the saws cut wood and metal. A corkscrew, tin opener and bottle opener are also included. The knife has red scales made of ABS/Cellidor and is made in Switzerland. The Victorinox lifetime guarantee applies.
The tools in the Handyman
According to Victorinox, the following functions are included:
- Blades: large and small blade
- Cutting and sawing: scissors, wood saw, metal saw, metal file
- Pliers and wire: combination pliers, wire cutter, crimping tool, wire stripper
- Opening and screwing: screwdrivers 2.5 / 3 / 6 mm, corkscrew, tin opener, bottle opener
- Other: chisel 4 mm, punch/reamer with sewing eye, nail file, nail cleaner, multipurpose hook, tweezers, toothpick, key ring
Safe and appropriate use
The blades do not lock. Always cut away from your body and from your free hand, and do not put sideways pressure on the blades, for example to lever. For hard or rough jobs, it is better to use the saw, chisel or screwdriver. When stripping and crimping, only work on de-energised wires. The Handyman is a compact all-round tool for small repairs; for larger jobs that need a lot of force, a specialist tool remains the better choice.
