Prym Maxi retractable tape measure – 150 cm with push-button rewind

The Prym Maxi retractable tape measure measures up to 150 cm and rewinds itself at the push of a button. You can use it for taking body measurements, for pattern pieces and for craft projects.

The scale is printed in centimetres on both sides, so you can read the measurement whichever side of the tape is facing up. A hold mechanism keeps the tape in the position you want, so you can read it off at your leisure and it does not snap straight back. At the push of a button, a spring pulls the tape back into the case. The tape is made of flexible, shape-retaining polyfibre fabric, which does not kink as easily as a paper tape.

Measuring accurately

Lay the tape flat when measuring and hold it lightly taut, without stretching it. For body measurements such as bust, waist or hips, run it horizontally around the body, ideally over thin clothing, and do not let it cut in. Read off the measurement while the hold mechanism is keeping the tape fixed. Then press the button and guide the tape back by hand so the end does not slap against the case. For sewing patterns and fabric cutting, lay the tape along the edge and read off the centimetres directly.
