Prym Omnigrid Universal Ruler 15 x 30 cm – for accurate cutting and marking

The Prym Omnigrid universal ruler (art. no. 611307) in 15 x 30 cm is the one to reach for when you want to measure, mark and cut fabric accurately for patchwork, dressmaking or graphic work. The yellow/black grid print is easy to read on both dark and light fabrics. The ruler is made of transparent plastic, so you can see the fabric underneath.

The laser print is scratch-resistant and sits on the underside. The markings therefore lie directly on the fabric, and according to Prym this rules out optical distortion. The thick, hard-wearing material guides rotary cutters and pull knives safely along the edge.

Cutting with the ruler

Place the ruler with the required grid line along the fabric edge or marking and hold it firmly with your flat hand. Run the rotary cutter along the edge of the ruler, keeping your fingers clear of the cutting line. The 30°, 45° and 60° angle lines let you cut triangles, diamonds and bias strips. To square up blocks, line up a grid line with an edge that has already been cut.

Choosing the size

At 15 x 30 cm, this ruler is compact, easy to take along to classes and suited to smaller cuts. For long lengths of fabric, the series also offers the ruler in 10 x 45 cm and 15 x 60 cm.
