Prym Elastic-Band extra soft elastic, 10 mm – shape-retaining waistband elastic for close-fitting clothes

Prym Elastic-Band extra soft is a woven elastic in white, 10 mm wide and 2 m long. You thread it through as waistband elastic in underwear, pyjamas, skirts or trousers. The surface is extra soft, so the elastic suits clothes worn directly against the skin.

The elastic is woven and keeps its width even when stretched. It does not roll up, so twisting inside the casing is less of a problem. You can wash it at up to 60 °C and tumble dry it. This means the garment does not need any special care because of the elastic. In the Prym range, the elastic is also available in 15 mm and 20 mm. For fine sewing and narrow cuffs, 10 mm is enough, while wider elastics suit waistbands better.

Threading the elastic

Sew a casing slightly wider than 10 mm for the elastic, so it can be pulled through easily. Attach a safety pin to the end of the elastic and push it through the casing. Measure the length on your body; the elastic may be slightly stretched while doing so. Then overlap the ends and sew them together firmly before closing the opening in the casing.
