Clover Quick Cut Thread Cutter – separate chain-pieced patchwork quickly

The Clover Quick Cut Thread Cutter (art. no. 7490) separates the connecting threads between sewn patchwork pieces quickly and easily. With chain piecing, you sew one piece after another without cutting the thread in between. You then separate the resulting chain of fabric pieces with the thread cutter.

The cutting function is easy to reach, and the blade sits inside the housing so that your fingers are protected from it. At 54 × 78 × 38 mm the cutter is compact and fits neatly beside the sewing machine.

Turning and changing the blade

Inside is a rotating 45 mm blade. When the edge goes blunt, simply turn the dial to bring a fresh section of blade forward. This works 12 times, so one blade lasts a long time before it needs replacing. Once the blade is completely worn, replace it with a 45 mm rotary blade from Clover.

What the thread cutter is for

It is made for patchwork and quilting projects where many small pieces are sewn one after another. Instead of cutting each thread separately with scissors, you separate the chain in one go and save yourself switching between sewing machine and scissors.
