How to sew on hooks and eyes

Place the hook on one edge and the eye on the opposite edge so that the two meet exactly when closed. Sew both on with firm stitches through the loops, using strong thread for heavy fabric. Mark the positions beforehand with pins or tailor's chalk so that the spacing is even.
