Prym extra fine vanishing marker – self-erasing fabric marker in purple

The Prym vanishing marker is a self-erasing fibre-tip pen in purple with an extra fine tip. You use it to make temporary marks on fabric, for example when sewing, quilting or embroidering. Depending on the fabric, the mark disappears on its own, so all you need to do is mark and sew.

Prym recommends the marker for all light fabrics and those that are not too dark. On dark fabric the purple line is harder to see.

Working with the vanishing marker

The extra fine tip draws narrow lines, for instance for seam lines, buttonholes, quilting patterns or embroidery designs. As the mark fades on its own, mark only as much as you will work on soon. According to Prym, how quickly the line fades depends on the type of fabric, the surroundings and time. It is therefore best to test the marker on a scrap of your fabric first.

Storing correctly

Store the marker upright with the tip pointing down. This keeps the ink flow even and stops the pen from drying out.
