Ziggy the Giraffe – knitting kit for a knitted soft toy

The Hardicraft Ziggy the Giraffe knitting kit contains everything you need to knit a giraffe: cotton yarn in ochre yellow and brown, safety eyes, stuffing and a pattern. The knitting needles are not included in the kit. You will need 3.0 mm needles.

Ziggy has a big head and a flat body. The pattern is supplied in Dutch, English, German and French. The kit suits you if you want a complete project with matching materials rather than putting together yarn, eyes and stuffing separately.

Knitting Ziggy

Knit the pieces on 3.0 mm needles, following the pattern. Attach the safety eyes before you stuff the giraffe, as you will no longer be able to reach the backs of the eyes afterwards. Stuff in small amounts, starting with the narrow areas. This keeps the shape even and avoids lumps. Check once more that the eyes are firmly fixed before closing up.

What's in the kit

You get two yarn colours, ochre yellow and brown, 50 g of each. This covers both colours of the giraffe. The pattern comes in four languages, so even if you are knitting a gift for friends or family abroad, you have everything in one place.
