The Clover Picot Gauge Large (art. no. 8115) lets you make picots of a defined size in tatting. You can work consecutive picots in different heights. The gauge has 10 prongs, so 10 different heights are possible.

The gauge is suitable for needle tatting and shuttle tatting. It is intended for thread sizes 10 to 50, that is, fine tatting thread.

What the picot gauge is for

Picots are the small loops that decorate tatted lace. Measured by hand, they quickly end up different sizes. With the gauge, the prong height you choose determines the size of the picot. This way you work even rows or deliberately graduated picots, for example for scalloped edges and patterns with varying heights. The 10 prongs let you set the gradation without having to estimate each time.

Tip on choosing

This gauge is the Large version. The Small version (art. no. 8116) is available separately. Work a short sample with your thread first to see how large the picots look in your thread size.
